1eyedjack
News on logon says that version 3.8.9 is now available and will auto-download itself during my session. Only it doesn't (currently on version 3.8.4). In the past this has always worked for me (with the percentage downloaded being shown in the title bar). This time no indication of download taking place in the title bar, and despite staying logged on for a considerable period, when I log off and back on again there is no "new version detected" routine. I am using Symantec's firewall, but that has never caused a problem of this nature in the past.
uday
I temporarily disabled the autodownloads for a few hours this afternoon , then resinstated them ( for 3.9.0 ). This was to correct a minor but annoying problem i introduced with the 3.8.9 version (corrected in 3.9.0)
1eyedjack
Umm 3.9.0 is not autodownloading either (although the news message has been updated). Did you remember to re-enable the autodownload?
rona_
Mine has updated but I lost the "welcome" when I log on. I find it useful when I walk away from the computer while logging on..Is there any way I can get that back? Since I have no idea how to delete this post.. I must inform you that I logged on and off 3 times and on the 4th, I had it.
uday
You mean the "readme" that pops up when you autoupgrade? http://www.bridgebase.com/3.9.0/readme.txt
inquiry
I wonder if rona_ means the "news" box... If so, rona_ if you close that box, it will not show up again until a new piece of news is added to it. So, on your fourth login, the news would have changed from what was there on the second and third time.... Could this be it? Ben
rona_
No I mean the welcome voice I hear when I log on. That was gone but returned after I logged in and out about 4 times.

In the purple section on the top left hand side, just under the big words BRIDGE BASE ONLINE, is the version number.. 3,x.x Ben
uday
The way the auto-upgrade works is this (in theory!) When the system detects that you need a new version, it starts dribbling it to your PC while you log in and out of bbo. eventually you have it all, and you see the 'download ready' in the title bar of the lobby. Next time you log in, the autoupgrade fires and walks you through the installation using the (already) downloaded installer.
