barmar Posted November 1, 2011 Report Share Posted November 1, 2011 The book bid with that hand is Pass, but GIB did simulations and decided that 4♠ would work better. When simulating, the hand won't match the description. I ran 10 sets of simulations, and it only chose 4♠ in 2 of them. So it's likely that if it simulated more hands, it would have gone with the book bid. P.S. I started working for BBO last week, hence my switch from third to first person.
