Someone will tell us the standard way of asking for the diamond queen.

2-2

3-something

5-something

6

or, if you play 3 as artificial

2-2

2-something

3-something

5-something

6

Obviously the second sequence will only work if 5 is Exclusion for hearts, which depends on the values of "something".

When are trump and are out of the picture, 4S! = RKC and 4NT! = Voidwood, excluding ( Meckwell ) .

If 5 is used as Exclusion, then Responder will reply 5NT or 6C (showing zero ) and 6D could be construed as a specific K-ask.

2C - 2D

3H - something

4NT! - something

6D! ( 3rd Rnd Ctrl-ask ... since have by-passed the K-ask -- thus, no confusion )

...... - ??

6H = no 3rd Rnd Ctrl in

7H = x x doubleton

6NT =
Q

7D =
Q J

This also works here even if you don't play Meckwell Exclusion. You don't care if partner has the A or not.

4NT ( regular RKC ) - 5C/5D

6D!

A Canadian expert once had a very similar hand where his rho opened 1.

He overcalled 1 intending to bid 5nt next as a graded grand slam try to ask for the Queen. You could arrange to do that by opening 1 here too BUT.....

Our Canadian played it right there on the 4-1 fit, down 2 (down 1 on the corrected hand). :lol:

Probably safe to open 2 clubs and manage to key card on diamonds here.

I still use very old Aces Scientific methods of Bobby Goldman on these type of hands and i like it

2--2

3--

then responder's

3=A

3NT= No ace but king or kings

4m=this ace

4=no ace and no king

4=same color 2 aces

4NT=same rank 2 aces

5=mixed 2 aces

Uusually u get 3NT or 4 response, over 4 you ask for the 3rd round control in any specific suit if u want to (since pd already denied A or K), responder can show a doubleton only if he has 2 or more trumps as 3rd round control.

Over 3 NT u may ask for the king(s) or 3rd round controls of your choice.

Do you really think it's useful to have 3 bids showing 2 aces after opener opens a strong 2 and then jumps?

It really is doubtful that the big hand will be missing three and need that information, but it is possible.....why not? Color, rank, and shape ---just like CRASH. Makes it fun.

You can change those 2 aces responses if u want to.

It could be useful probably in a hand like AKQJTx KQx KQJT void, with correct aces u can bid grand, or with one non club ace u can bid slam. But i hear ya, u can use 1 bid for 2 aces and then opener can later learn if he wants to which ones. As long as u dont abuse the 2 opening and then jump in a suit, u will probably never get these replies anyway. And u dont really need too much space anyway if opening 2 and then jumping in suit was not abused.
