Zelandakh Posted October 31, 2011 Report Share Posted October 31, 2011 You might find it helpful to look up "unassuming cue bid" (ucb) for this situation. There are (many) more ideas in Robson-Segal available free online. This is an area where there are plenty of options depending on how many artificial bids you are willing to take into your system. For a good intermediate or higher pick-up partner it is probably ok to assume that they will understand a ucb; the other possibilities you need to have an explicit agreement for unless some kind of expert standard is assumed.
