BunnyGo
Apparently the sequence: 1♣-(1♠)-X-(P)2NT shows a 20-21 NT hand with a spade stopper. Why wouldn't such a hand just open 2NT? Shouldn't this be 18-19? I may be not understanding something.
paulg
Apparently the sequence: 1♣-(1♠)-X-(P)2NT shows a 20-21 NT hand with a spade stopper. Not apparent to me.
Bbradley62
I certainly agree with your analysis. But, no hand to show the developers?
BunnyGo
I certainly agree with your analysis. But, no hand to show the developers? No, because I didn't bid 2NT...Unless they'd want to see that hand anyways.
Bbradley62
I would think it would help them to recreate the situation to analyze it.
chasetb
Well, there is one chance it could be 20-21, if it was something like 4(31)5 or 4xy6 and a baby singleton. I would expect the Club suit to be solid and there to be Spade honor tenaces. 18-19 would be better, with the 20-21 hands bidding 3♠ as a transfer to 3NT or to show belated ♥ support. BunnyGo
I would think it would help them to recreate the situation to analyze it. Ok, I dug it up. The thing is, I figure that since it's just the roll-over explanation they'd get just as much from simply seeing what the sequence says at a new table. http://tinyurl.com/3uyk5pr I did just get a top by passing, but it struck me as weird that the 2NT roll over said 20-21 flat. If you look at some of the other hands (dunno if that's possible), it also says that 1C-(1S)-X-(P)3NT is 20-21 flat.
Bbradley62
Your answer was much more fun than bidding 2N! :P
