JLOGIC Posted October 16, 2011 Report Share Posted October 16, 2011 2N, we could be cold for a game/have a good save etc etc. All white with a spade void when partner couldn't open in third seat makes me feel somewhat safe, they probably have a spade fit and maybe also a heart fit. Ofc I could go for a number still but it seems worth the risk. If you are too scared to bid 2N I feel like you should at least bid 1N. It is usually a matter of to open or not when u are short in boss suit, but here they already opened. I do not understand the wish to bury their ♠ fit either. Why would i wanna bury their 4-4 ♠ fit ? I have great defense in ♠ contracts combined with pd's trump stack. I would bid 2NT for the reasons Justin explained, not for any reason about preventing their ♠ fit.
