I believe he was playing Neapolitan Club partnering Pittala and that this call was forcing as Pittala rebid 3♠ holding a 5=5=1=2 ten count. You can make seven tricks in spades. However the board was lost at the other table where Goldman did not open the ten count, Soloway never bid with the hand shown, and Garozzo and Lauria scored -800 in four hearts doubled.
