aguahombre
If my pard did it, she would be huge. Will cue the spade king.
whereagles
Fine, but did you notice opps didn't raise hearts? Pard probably has a spade void! 4D.
mcphee
Not that fond of cue bidding a K here, will try 5!D. Would like to know what 4N or 4H would have been.
Fluffy
pard is 0355 with heart stopper we might belong to 3NT but its rare, I think we dont even make game actually. 4D for me.

aguahombre
Fine, but did you notice opps didn't raise hearts? I tend to believe partner would notice that, too. Partner will also notice if she has a spade void. I don't need to guess why she wants my further participation; I will just show where I live. If a nice spade card isn't what she wants, she will notice that, also. This meager collection is growing; fourth diamond, doubleton club. Now I can show the spade feature. Heck, she might even want to try 3NT.

Mine hardly have 15 or so in situations like these. Anyway, you're not supposed to suppose pard knows your hand. You have absolute squadush. Bid accordingly. Phil
So the question revolved around what 3♠ is? Can it be a NT probe? Does it show six spades inviting a 6-2 sit? Is it just a concentration of values? Whatever it is, this hand just isn't good enough and I agree with the 4♦ bidders, even though ATT I bid 3♠. Partner had Q, AT, AKQTx KQJxx. 5♦ was quickly -1. Or is it too tough to stop short of game with these cards at IMPs?

Or is it too tough to stop short of game with these cards at IMPs? If partner's major suits were Qx A instead of Q Ax, he'd bid the same way and 5♦ would be cold then. And if you bid 4♦ the bidding would stop there. But I agree though that KJxxx in the fourth suit doesn't rate to be useful most of the time as it would be facing shortness in the two-suited hand. Tough hand to bid at either IMPs or MP.
gnasher
If partner has ♠Hx I think he should bid 3♠, not 3♥.
