There might be some duplication in spades, but really you cannot reduce the value of a void to zero just because your partner has bid that suit. Additionally all your points are in Aces and Kings. Does the ♠ void not argue for caution?, temporarily downgrading until his 2nd bid.Rebiding 2♣ will not change the chances of a minor suit fit. mike777 Posted September 29, 2011 Report Share Posted September 29, 2011 I still dont think this is an 8 trick hand and the spade void is a negative but having thought some more about this I change my bid to 2d even though I think I have broken tempo. :) One club/two clubs could be so much weaker, really weaker that I think I need to take the risk we may get too high.
