jmcw
HAND 1You have a fit for partner and nothing else that is helpful. You should expect 2 defensive tricks vs ♦, but not enough for a penaly X.Seems like you must decide whether to Pass or support ♠.For me its an easy pass. HAND 2Don't like the choices being offered!, why should 3♣ be GF?For me its 3♣ F1, or a reluctant 2♠.
Hanoi5
Double and Double. I'm not sure about the first one, apparently we have 2 tricks in defense, can partner bring 3? Maybe not that many. Pass looks better. 3♠ is out of the question.
quiddity
1. Pass2. 2♠
Zelandakh
1. Pass (but this is clearly wrong on a forum hand)2. Double, probably followed by 3S
han
1. Pass 2. 3C! Note the similarity with a recent MSC hand where you had 6 diamonds.
JLOGIC
If they were red I'd probably go ahead and rip the first one, but I think the risk of them making is too high to rip it when they're white.
pooltuna
hand 1] Well given LOTT, our 9 card fit, the great value of my high cards to partner, my short suits for ruffing ....I pass and try and beat 3♦ hand 2] I owe partner a call 2♠
whereagles
1. Easy pass. If pard has extras he'll dbl, which suits you fine. 2. Couple bids possible: - Stretch to 3C- dbl and pull 2NT to 3C or 3D to 3S- pass and follow up with a good 3C- straight 2S The actual choice will depend on how I feel, but they certainly are all playable. MrAce
1-I am big believer of support with support, but even i would pass with this. 2- DBL or 3♣ for me. If pd bids anything but 3♦ over my DBL i am happy. If he bids 3♦ i can bid 3♠ (or even 3 NT if i need some score). 3♣ is GF, and i think it is unplayable to play it F1 only at 3 level as someone suggested. Although, i admit that starting 3♣ is definetely reasonable with this hand. It actually has advantages depending on how the auction will proceed after my bid and depending on what pd has. Yu18772
1. Clear pass2. Dbl - suit not enough to foce or enough to force no suit? May be useful to agree though that partner rebids spades with any minimum hand without stopper - so 1♠-2♥-X-P2♠-P-?2NT=invitational, shows pick a minor3♣/♦ - invitational with suit etc...http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif
MrAce
I have a feeling about the smiley "rolling eyes" is being either used wrong or has different meanings in different cultures.

But usually a negative aproach to express the frustration for being in the current situation/debate/argument etc etc. The reason i wrote what i wrote is, some people who uses it do not actually have anything negative in their post. So i thought they either use it wrong or it has other meanings that i am not aware of.
gwnn
MrAce, you're looking at the rollie eyes dude all wrong. He has an innocent smile on his face. There are other rollie eyes guys out there in other media, but this smiley is definitely not frustrated. cf. yahoo smiley:http://elouai.com/images/yahoo/25.gif
Fluffy
Hand 1, I also passed, althou all white MPs pass cannot be the best possible action. But it leaves partner the decision. He decided right and bid 3♠ with KQJ10xx Axx x KQJ for 1 down, 3♦ would make. Hand 2, your action here doesn't matter much, partner has ♠KJ9xx ♥A10 ♦AKQJx ♣Q and slam is not bad and its not good, so no biggie for missing it.
