Ruff diamond, play 4 hearts throwing high spades from dummy, club to A and spade back to 9... It seems easy to me. Or is there any problem? Mila btw My first post here. Brandal Posted October 10, 2004 Report Share Posted October 10, 2004 evidently he means that in addition to no way to make it, there's no way to allow it to be made if east throws the deuce of spades on the first diamond, then it makes... outside of that i see no other way If EAST throws a heart, it also makes. If East throws a club, it also makes, if East throws the spade JACK it also makes, so in fact, EAST has to discard at trick one the Spade 8, 6, or 4 or else it will make. Quite a small difference between he can't throw only the spade 2 or else it makes. But really, the first problem is more interesting than the second. luke warm Posted October 10, 2004 Report Share Posted October 10, 2004 i was confused on the hands also... but in the 6H one, trump the diamond lead, lead out the rest of your trumps and throw all the top spades, lead a club to the ace and lead your low spade toward the 9.. east has to win but he's endplayed... if he doesn't win the 10, you lose one spade at the end Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
