This book divides up endplays into different themes, and these are dealt with in individual chapters. Each chapter first goes through the technique, gives some examples from high-level play, and then ends off with a short quiz of 4 hands, with answers given after. Bird's style makes for easy reading even for a technical book. I personally like the way the book is structured, and the quizzes are short enough to keep most readers' attention, yet sufficient for one to test his/her understanding. The book should be suitable for intermediates up, even advanced players will find some of the later chapters helpful, and the earlier chapters a good revision of the basics. Not the usual lead up to A Q 9 and cover LHOs card.There are a lot of shape based end plays.The beginning stae=rts out very basic ( worried me I had wasted my money), but rapidly improves.Great book for Intermediates, and still worthwhile for Advanced.
