What do you play this sequence as?

I like 2 to still be inverted after they overcall 1 of a suit, in which case 3 is still minimum-without-major-stoppers... but I realize that's going to be a minority viewpoint.

Playing inverted minors in competition as horrible imo, I prefer 2 to be a simple raise. 3 in this sequence is rather preemptive, opener has many ways to try an invite otherwise.

:P My sentiments exactly. It's not a total bar bid. It shows a good playing hand with some club length and invites pard to go to 4 if LHO gets active again. Maybe:

2C is a simple weak raise, 3C inv.

Something more elaborate may be better, the 1D overcall did not take away any bid,

so you could keep your complete agreement set, but where do you draw the line?

After a 1H / 1S overcall?

And does the same apply, if we opened 1D / 1H, they overcall 1H / 1S?

Will you be able to remember this?

Sry, for me best is KISS as much as possible.

With kind regards

Marlowe

2 is 6-10. The thing is opener might want to invite to 3NT WITHOUT a diamond stopper. But I think 2 could help in that situation: it's forcing, partner can even show his range if he has the stopper, etc.

There is not much to remember. If another bid is possible, raising to three is not invitational. Here "another bid" is 2.
