(with reasons please)needless to say, I bid 2NT, 3D from o -> made in an 4 - 5 fit :(
JLOGIC
1) Yes, I think passing 1N was a poor decision with this hand. You need a lot to go right for it to work out. Don't get fancy, you have a 6 card suit, transfer to it. 2) Obviously ompete...you have a 6 card suit! 3) Lebensohl should not apply in this auction, the point of lebensohl when they overcall directly is to differentiate between forcing hands, and non forcing hands. When you pass 1N, you never have a forcing 3C bid.
Free
You could even stayman and pass if partner bids 2M, that's better than passing 1NT imo. Now I'd definitely compete to 3♣. I agree with jlo that lebensohl doesn't make much sense here, since you can't have a forcing bid anymore, I'd rather use 2NT as scrambling (minors probably) while 3♣ is weak signoff. mck4711
Lebensohl is usually played after p opens and RHO intervenes: 1NT - 2x - 2NT to distinguish between forcing and non-forcing bids. Therefore 3♣ is nat and non-forcing. Other Q then of course:- What would 2NT be? To play, certainly a rare case, but... After 1NT - p - p - 2♦ (♥+♠)p - 2M - 2NT should show ♣+♦ After 1NT - p - p - 2m (nat)p - p - p - 2NT: to play
P_Marlowe
Hi, passing 2S out is ridiculous, you know, you have the bal. of power and at leasta 8 card fit in clubs.I understand passing 1NT, abd now over 2S I bid 2NT, to sign of in clubs. I may let them play 3D undoubled, ... this may well be the wiser auction, but Iwont let them play 2S. With kind regardsMarlowe
Phil
Lebensohl is not needed after we pass 1N, and LHO balances. 2N is better played as the minors, or "two places to play". However, Lebensohl / and systems on work very well after: 1N - x (one suit) - pass - 2♣pass - pass/bid - ? or 1N - 2♣ (one suit) - pass - 2♦pass - pass/bid - ? or even 1N - 2x (suction) - pass - 2x+1pass - pass/bid - ? I echo the thought of those who criticize the pass of 1N and the use of lebenshol once you have passed.
