daveharty
2S. Fibbing a little is okay if you have no good alternative, but here that isn't the case. This hand looks more suit-oriented anyway with all those nice controls but no spots. You can get to notrump if that's the right strain. kenberg
2♠, and however badly that works out, I'll bid 2♠ next time also.

ggwhiz
2♠ Aces and Kings are meant for suit play. We all know pard denies 4 cards in ♠ (I hope) and a 3♦ bid next if I can make it shows what I have to a T.
Siegmund
Neither. 3NT! (Assuming 2NT is natural and invitational.) If partner puts me back in 4H, fine. If partner responded on an ugly 4-count, maybe he'll learn not to.
JLOGIC
I think bidding 2N with 4522 is fine, but with 4531 just bid out your shape. We could belong in 6D, 4H in a 5-2 fit, etc, and the best way to decide where to be is to describe our shape to partner and let him guide us. jmcw
With good Majors suits I'm bidding 2♠. However, I often wonder if this is the best use for this bid! Why reverse into a suit partner has denied. I suppose the rebid structure is what's important. Anyone care to share their rebids after 2♠?, or is that for another thread?
Phil
Definitely 2♠. Hopefully we get the chance to show our 12th card next.

BunnyGo
3♦ you're partner now knows you are: 4=5=3=1 or 4=5=4=0 with a 17-20 countish hand. Place the contract, thank you p.
P_Marlowe
2S, Show the shape. In a 2/1 context, p may still have 4 spades. This is oof course depend, what you put in the forcing NT, but ifyou put weak raises in the 1NT, than 4 are possible. 2N over 2S would be Lebensohl / Inbbergman, what ever you call it.I dont think it is clear cut to force to game, espesially in a 2/1 context, so I dont have problems with just bidding the 3C relais or with 3D. With kind regardsMarlowe
jillybean
3♦. TYP. 3♦ you're partner now knows you are: 4=5=3=1 or 4=5=4=0 with a 17-20 countish hand. Place the contract, thank you p. Playing leb/reverse do you still ignore the relay to 3♣?
BunnyGo
Playing leb/reverse do you still ignore the relay to 3♣? Yes, I do. I think my hand is strong enough to force game opposite a partner who could respond with a forcing NT.
pooltuna
2♠ some partners won't call 1♠ with a suit that looks like 8642 when they have the values for 1NT.
