mck4711
IMP, vul, SAYC, I am dealer ♠ Jx♥ -♦ AKQ87xx♣ AKxx 2 possible biddings (I chose first one), but both lead to the same question, opps dont bid: 1)1♦ - 1♥3♣ - 3♥?Your considerations and call? 2)2♣ - 2♥3♦ - 3♥?Your considerations and call?
whereagles
In case 1 I'll try 4D and in case 2, 5D. I don't think this is going any further than game. Too hard to tell anyway.
Fluffy
Case 1 4D, case 2... well I wouldn't be, but obviously I'd bid 3NT with 9 tricks in hand!
MrAce
I am bidding 3 NT in both situations.
pooltuna
I would try 3♠ meant as a stopper ask in both auctions
MrAce
I would try 3♠ meant as a stopper ask in both auctions Unfortunately stopper asking bids can not help us to figure what opponents have in this suit. Jx vs xxx jx vs xxxx is good enough to play 3 NT - They did not bid it - If they dont bid it, they may not lead it. Especially when you bid it confidently instead of broadcasting your hand. - If they lead it, they may not have enough to defeat - If they have enough to defeat suit maybe blocked originally. - If suit is not blocked originally, they may block it from the lead. - If 3 NT is going down due to lack of ♠ stopper, there is a good chance 5♦ going down too, unless pd covers our 2 small ♣s, they can simply cash 2♠ and lock you in hand. P_Marlowe
Hi, The difference between both seq. is, that in #1 p did not show a 6th heart. #1 4D - this should set trumps, does not deny a spade control.#2 Matter of agreement, for us 4C would be a cue, agreeing hearts, the same would be true for 3S. Due to this => 4D, should set trumps. This seq. showes, why the first seq. is better, at least we were able to show our 2nd suit. With kind regardsMarlowe
