gskz
I was playing a TM, a player named xxxxxx [name removed], send me spams by sending me tournament invites, i got 5-10 windows opened on my screen in seconds, hence could not play and continue. I logged out. Once i logged in again, the guy from israel did same, it was so frustrating as i didn't have the time to mark him as enemy so that he could not send spams. Its an inbuilt flaw in BBO programming. Once i contacted the yellows, they told me to block him, but how could some one block as he donot get time for this, due to speed of spasms. ? Hope BBo work on it and shameful players like xxxxxx [name removed] have a life time ban. Edited September 4, 2011 by inquiry name of accused player removed since it is a violation of the terms of service

aguahombre
Now that we have gotten the names issue and the Forum issue out of the way: I don't think the Yellows, in general, are equipped to deal with the offending person --only to give advice as best they can; nor should they be charged with reporting the abuse to those who are equipped. The agrieved party should contact abuse@....who then can investigate complaints and take remedial action. Also, speaking as a layman, I don't think it should be handled as a software flaw; it needs to be dealt with case-by-case so that the cure is not worse than the illness. barmar
Here's a reasonable solution in the program: if someone declines an invite twice in a row, you can't send them an invitation for 5 minutes. I doubt this would cause any problems to legitimate players. The "two in a row" rule is there to prevent problems if someone accidentally declines an invite. I doubt this would cause any problems to legitimate players. The "two in a row" rule is there to prevent problems if someone accidentally declines an invite.Well, the problem with that is when you want to create a team match. Sometimes 1 or 2 players will decline, you replace them by others and one of these may decline (or someone who orinally accepted doesn't want to play with the new partner, whatever). I'd prefer an extra button "mark as enemy" or "report spam" or "ignore forever" or something similar. Moreover if this is reported, then BBO abuse can penalize spammers. This won't prevent spamming initially, but once it occurs you can stop it immediately and it can have consequences for the spammer.

I didn't say you couldn't send ANY invitations for 5 minutes, I just said that you couldn't re-invite the person who keeps declining. We could even use a sliding scale. After the first decline, you can't invite them for 20 seconds. If they decline again, it goes up to 1 minute. Next time it's 2 minutes, then 5 minutes, and so on. But having an "ignore invitations" button would be a nice additional feature.
