Raising 4-card suit with only 2

I can't provide the hand, because it was an unfinished board in a Robot Reward tourney. GIB had an opening hand with 5=2=5=1 shape. The auction went 1♠ - 2♣ - 2♦ - 2♥ - 3♥. With human partners I'd play that 2♥ bid as 4th Suit Forcing, but GIB explained it as 5+C 4+H.

 

I had 19 HCP, so I jumped to 6♥ (it was the last hand and I was in last place, so nothing really mattered). I wouldn't have been surprised to see 3 hearts in dummy, but Qx threw me.

Shouldnt be rare cause rebid of 2♠ could only be 5cards

Cant 2♦ be temporizing bid with extras say 5332 hand... With values in ♦ and ♠......xxx♥

As a way to show extras, like I said where all your values are in spades and diamonds

I've never heard of that style. It seems to me that you can do this later, by making a slam try in diamonds once you've found a fit, rather than distort your shape. There are times when you have to reverse into a 3-card minor, to establish a forcing auction. But once partner has made a game forcing 2/1 bid, there's not usually any need to confuse him.

Much easier (one would think) auction....

1 club by robot, 1 spade by me (with 4 in the suit), 2 spades by robot. Explanation said robot has 4 cards in spaces. Robot showed up with 2 small spades and 7 cards in clubs. ARRGGGHHHH!!!!
