That said, I think north should pass 4S to indicate slam interest, his hand is quite good. If south ahd Kx of diamonds slam would be very good. This is also a good auction to play a direct 5C showing slam interest, with a hand with no slam interest that wants to bid passing and then pulling, so that partner does not get in your way when he doesn't X. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BunnyGo Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2011 Ok, I felt bad about bidding 5♣ because of my controls and that the K of diamonds rated to be onside. I did it despite that, because I felt I was a bit minimum for my bids and wanted to show that. Lesson to take away is that 3 controls, a better than 50% king onside, and a stiff opposite and A in their suit is rarely "minimum".
