He had the opening lead, but led something else, so i made contract...
manudude03
I've had that happen before. In bridge bingo, I needed a 2S to complete my line. (1C)-X-(XX)-2S-(P)-P, Gib W is sitting with 10 solid diamonds and passed!
Bbradley62
Welcome to the BBO Forum. The last heading under "Bridge Base Online Discussion" is "GIB Robot Discussion" and that's where all of these stories are. I'm sure you'll find some of them entertaining, although we mostly try to report oddities so that the developers can use the stories to fix the problems. Bbradley62
Not leading an A against 7NTx is a recurring theme: http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/46590-please-cash-your-ace-pard/page__p__556518__fromsearch__1#entry556518

manudude03
That's the normal play in clubs lacking the entries. It picks up Qxxx onside and only loses to stiff Q offside (compared to cashing 1 top club before finessing)
barmar
But it has a dummy entry in trumps. GIB doesn't play safe, it plays the odds.
manudude03
But it has a dummy entry in trumps. GIB doesn't play safe, it plays the odds. 1 entry isn't enough to cash the ace and then get back to finesse twice.
barmar
But it didn't play in a way that would pick that up, either. To pick up Qxxx, it should have finessed when it was in with that ♥A, then crossed back in trumps to finesse again. But instead it ruffed a ♥ for no good reason (GIB tends to do that a lot, because its DD analysis tells it it doesn't matter).
