Phil
Pass. If I balance with some number of clubs, I might find 3N, but it probably isn't there, so I am fine with my 50's. There is a great risk however they have a massive heart fit that they haven't discovered.
aguahombre
If they have a lot of hearts, we want to pass.If Pard has a lot of hearts, we want to pass.
Hanoi5
Partner's pass is what bothers me. If he had shown hearts (and some HCP's) by doubling, I'd try 3NT. If I do that now I might get a heart lead. Doubling and then 3NT runs the risk of partner bidding 4♥ with 5 (in case partner doesn't bid 4♥). I might reluctantly pass but x or 2♠ or 3♣ would cross my mind instead.
dake50
Can I ever hope to catch a 1S psych? Not without showing stops. Can I punish S:Q10xxxx at best? Nope, not in 1S.Where are the 13 hearts? No LHO Michaels. No NegX from partner.RHO has 6xH.Do I fear 4H makes? Not much. Got AK+AK.Do I fear 3NT is on for us? You betcha. 6xC +2xS +partner's H-stop.I'm bidding 3NT.Can partner reason that if 4H were possible I'd double? Yup.
OleBerg
I only see two alternatives; pass and 3NT. 3NT can easily get ugly though, if the run hearts, my discards can quickly become quite bothersome. Alone red at IMP's, I'll be most inclined towards 3NT.Alone white at MP's, I'll be most inclined towards pass.
MrAce
3 NT for me. Due to bidding i expect my ♣ to run, which brings me to 8 sure tricks. All pd needs to is to stop ♥ suit and i have a decent shot in 3NT. Or if he doesnt stop ♥ suit, i need a friendly ♠ or ♦ lead.

In which case i don't need "spectacular" openings like 1♣ to get the opportunity to show my 5 ♠ holding at the 4 level (watching my void i could easily guess that opps are entitled to mention some hearts at high level).I never understood what is the advantage of that 1♣ opening. At least if i open 1♠ their psychic will not work.An expert bridge woman opened against me a hand like that.1c-3h(i bid)-p-5h(my partner) and she had to guess whether to invent the ♠ at the 5 level, whether to t/o X but how in the heaven will ever find the 5-3 ♠ fit now!? Or a slam))) She doubled and got +100.
tolvyrj
This is actually a real hand from international competition in Pau and the guy who opened this one with 1♣ has played in international competitions before ;) .In expert panel most of the votes went for the pass and runner up choice was 5 ♣. 3 Nt will go down because lead is A or K of ♥ which clarifies the situation for the defence. What happens in real life was that both teams bid up to 6♣ which made cause dummy had void in ♠ and RHO had void in ♣ B-) .
