Mbodell
Playing normal US 2/1 with a strong nt you deal and have the following decision unfavorable at IMPs: [hv=pc=n&s=sa73ha73dj6cqj853&d=s&v=n&b=15&a=1c2ddp]133|200[/hv]
MrAce
Ewwww...I'd bid 2♥ and cross my fingers. If it turns out to be bad for us, i will say "sometimes preempts win" and go to next board

qwery_hi
3c, and if 3D by partner I'd bid 4D.
whereagles
2♥. Pard will more often have 5 hearts than 5 spades. 2NT and 3♣ are also reasonable and definitely worth a shot if you dislike bidding 3 card majors.
P_Marlowe
A weak NT opening would also have solved the problem. I guess I would bid 3C. With kind regardsMarlowe

P_Marlowe
Are you sure? 1NT 2♦ dbl pass?? Or do you play dbl as penalties? ;)No, for us X is for T/O in this seq., but the T/O promises shortagesin their suit and hence at least 3 cards in the other suits, and wehave a 5 card suit. With 4432 (3 diamonds) - p should pass an wait for the reopening X. With kind regardsMarlowe

melind0908
A direct X as described here with several of my partners = We own the hand, so we either bid game or double whatever the opponents bid. So over 2D doubled I would bid the three card heart suit just to continue the auction. If partner has diamonds we may end up in 3nt. If the opponents stick their noses in again, a double by partner is for business. A double by me will be viewed as DSI (do something intelligent) which may be pass if partner has the diamonds.
