We can play partner for about 6 or 7 hcp .... this is probably not a cold contract....LHO was willing to play 3N.

I don't like diamonds, since that lead needs a lot to go right for it to be a winner, and not much to go wrong for it to be a loser.

A spade certainly seems safe enough, but has no upside. Otoh, the opps seem to have stretched so safety may be important. However, since I think clubs are about as safe as spades, in terms of the suits, and about as dangerous, in terms of losing a tempo, while having a very slight upside, I would always lead a club rather than a spade. Picture dummy with 5323/5233 and declarer with 3235/3325 or both with 4 clubs.

Hearts are for the hyper-aggressive. We could be cashing two quicks, or establishing the K. I'd probably go for the hearts if I didn't have the 10....picture a layout such as dummy with Qx and declarer with A10x....he could go wrong. But with Qx opposite Axx, he can't go wrong. That's enough to persuade me to save my aggressive lead for another day.

Thus I choose a club, but with no strong feelings.

Btw, while I am not expecting a ruff, I also don't feel that partner's failure to double means much....he may have no assurance that he can beat 6N, especially if he gives declarer a clue as to the layout.

Yes, but partner's failure to double two artificial heart calls - one at the 5 level, where there can be no reasonable fear of the opponents redoubling for penalty - is a further indication against leading a heart.

I agree with the choice of a club lead.

This bidding is weird, LHO says he wants to play 3 NT or 4, RHO says ok then i prefer 4, then LHO says that his hand improved so much vs 3 cards fit and that he can go all the way up to 6 level...

He either missorted his hand and the 3-3 or 3-2 reds he thought was actually 1 suit, or he had 9-10 hcps and asked RKCB for the sake of it and could not resist to bid slam after learning enough keycards if not all of them.

Pd did not DBL 3 or 5 , but is he supposed to DBL with Qxx(x).. with a side Ace or trump Ace ? Idk to be honest...All i know is they bid a strecth slam and they caught Timo on lead which means their chances to make slam increased by a lot ! :D

I have no strong feelings whatsoever just like Mikeh about my choice but i would lead either or at the table, probably though.

Given this could have ended in 3NT, it certainly is a thin slam. Since responder has no side suit (would have bid it over 3), I don't think there will be quick discards.

Leading a trump then. Certainly not a heart. Pard has had a couple of opportunities to dbl heart bids and always passed.

LOL, a good one to show that 9xxxx isn't safe.
