The auction returns to you with 2♦. What now? Pass, double again, support clubs, bid a new suit?
Hanoi5
Pass is my call now. I wouldn't have doubled in the previous round, I see no way to rectify this.
Zelandakh
You made your bed with double, now you have to lie down. This is pretty much the reason the trend moved away from double on this hand type towards an overcall.

jmcw
Partner, likely has nothing so you really ought to pass. Agree that you should have overcalled at your first turn. As it is ,you are likely to get very few matchpoints defending 2♦, if that is your view then bidding anything is better than a pass. More than likely the ops are headed higher so just pass. benlessard
Bidding again is inconsistent. When you X rather than overcall at a low level its because you feel you do not have the value to make an overcall followed by a takeout X. This hand is good enough 1S followed bid a X of 2D is a nice way to describe the hand.

inquiry
I can not answer this question, as I would have started with 1♠
paulg
I would also overcall 1♠ but I don't object to double as strongly as the others. Just a matter of style imho. But it does seem to have worked out and now you have an easy pass. It appears that the opener has a minimum hand with long diamonds and no interest in doubling two clubs. Partner may have a bust but certainly has a preference for clubs, so you have to think about five or six clubs opposite. In fact there are a lot of points still missing in the pack, rather than too many. Sounds like LHO has a monster!
Phil
I feel very strongly about overcalling 1♠. I will pass now, acknowledging we might have a playable spade fit.
the hog
Pass is my call now. I wouldn't have doubled in the previous round, I see no way to rectify this. These are my sentiments exactly. This is a 1S bid, not a x.
whereagles
Pass. For heaven's sake, pard could have 3334 and no hcps.
