G_R__E_G
This will be my first NABC (I was supposed to go to one a couple of years back but my partner went and died on me - I've still not forgiven her). Being in my own backyard of course helps (I live 90 minutes north of Toronto and worked right downtown for several years). Anyone else going? Anyone vacationing in Ontario before or after that wants some suggestions of places to see?
paulg
I'll be there, part of a large Scottish contingent. There are three teams coming from Edinburgh, one from Glasgow and finally the Commonwealth champions (who span the East-West divide) all intending to play in the Spingold (we all hope to get through Monday and play a top eight team on Tuesday, given our expected seeding!). Most are playing the Life Master Pairs first but we'll be there for the duration.

barmar
Me, too. Haven't managed to make any dates yet.
adf
My partner and I are looking for teammates for the Roth Teams (two-day NABC+ final weekend). We are a new partnership; with a different partner, I've made the finals of NABC+ team events twice in my last three tries and I think he's slightly better than I am. I can be reached by e-mail at AFxxx157@gmail.com if you replace xxx with 121. A few things which probably don't matter, but... we are both middle-aged men, play a 2/1 approach, from the Boston area. Mbodell
I'll be there. Growing up 60 minutes west of Toronto made this a no brainer. I'm currently on my 3rd set of partners/team mates for various events after others bailed/didn't worked out, but I think I'm all set now. benlessard
I just received my passport (a full 5 days in advance) so I'm going! Americans need us passport to come to Canada ? Is it only since 9-11 ?
BunnyGo
Americans need us passport to come to Canada ? Is it only since 9-11 ? Last I checked we don't need a passport to get into Canada, but we need either a passport, or a passport card to get BACK from Canada. If you don't have either, get the card. You can get it quickly enough (maybe) and it's cheaper.
kayin801
sohcahtoa and I are going. Quite a bit further for us (MA and VA are our homes) but it's "summer vacation" so why not?

jmcw
I just received my passport (a full 5 days in advance) so I'm going! A passport is required for US citizens arriving by air. If, however, you are driving then a proof of citizenship and proof of identity is sufficient. Please see the Canadian Border Services website for details.

jjbrr
I'll be there, and I actually have plans to play this time! Don't call it a comeback.
Mbodell
Americans need us passport to come to Canada ? Is it only since 9-11 ? Yes, more or less. And it is Americans and Canadians. I (Canadian residing in the US) forgot my passport at Christmas in 2009, which was after the passport restriction, and managed to make my way in anyway off my green card with just a scolding. But technically you need a passport, and the airlines should check for a passport and possibly not board you without one.
sathyab
Having missed Philly, Orlando and Louisville, I decided I'd go to Toronto even though my regular partner is not coming. Does anyone know of anyone still looking for a partner for LM pairs ? I do have a partner and a 4-man team for Spingold, except that partner is playing in GNT which conflicts with LM. And of course, Murphy's Law will apply; if I don't have a partner, he'll still be playing in GNT on the first day of LM. If I have one, he'll be out, looking for one :)
CSGibson
I'm going, but just during the duration of the GNT/LM Pairs.
Phil
JLOGIC usually gets shipped in a crate with the other beasts, Phil. Then all he needs is a manifest and shot records. I might sit in a wooden box to avoid an $800 airfare. Is there beverage service in the cargo hold?
blackshoe
I seem to remember a tale of some guy who shipped himself in a box because it was cheaper than paying for a seat on the flight. Turned out that's illegal. Who knew?
Elianna
I just received my passport (a full 5 days in advance) so I'm going! I got my new one a month ago and thought _I_ was cutting it close! :) (I left it for so long because I was scared of the potential shut down, and would rather have a passport in my old name with my marriage license than no passport at all! But then it took them only about three weeks to process it, so that was very lucky.)

Turned out that's illegal. Who knew? :unsure:Inside the package, Waldo was so transfixed with excitement that he could barely breathe. His skin felt prickly from the heat, and he could feel his heart beating in his throat. It would be soon. Sheila stood quite upright and walked around to the other side of the package. Then she sank down to her knees, grasped the cutter by both handles, took a deep breath, and plunged the long blade through the middle of the package, through the masking tape, through the cardboard, through the cushioning and (thud) right through the center of Waldo Jeffers' head, which split slightly and caused little rhythmic arcs of red to pulsate gently in the morning sun.
