What do you open?

2=Muiderberg (weak 5c; 4+minor)

- If you open 1 (2+ card) then:

Partner transfers to (T-Walsh).

1-1!(xfer)

1-2NT (1 denies 3c)

??

- If you open the bidding with a Pass You can :

- - first bid and then (GF)

- - First bid , and retransfer to after partner bids 1NT; If you then bid this is GF. (with 5c and 4+)

- - First bid , and transfer to (with 2) after partner bids 1NT; If you then rebid this is undefined. (but first bidding then denies a 5c & denies GF values)

I open with 1 and follow the bidding you set out for that start. Over 2NT I bid 3. If partner continues with 3NT, I bid 4.

So far, no problems.

What are you trying to tell ?

Your "really" seems very manipulative to us ......

Can you not READ?!

Obviously he is talking about the fact that a passed hand should not be able to GF.

Oh,yes, might be be true....

Anyway, good to hear your opinion.

It would be nice if everyone would appreciate the ideas of others, without making fun of them.

our bidding was:

Pass-1

1-1NT

2!-3! (2=xfer ; 3=bad hand)

3-Pass

- I opened 1 in 3th hand and had an 11 HCP 2=5=4=2 hand.

I passed 3 because we are a new partership & I thought partner misbid and tried to correct to 3.

We did go down but it was still a decent score because most other pairs were higher and did go down more.

- Would you still open 1 if you change the J or Q to a small ?

- Would you also open 1 with 1=5=1=7 hand & reverse 2 if partner bids 1?

Thanks,

Koen

This hand is probably closer to a 3C opening than to 1C.

I was surprised that everyone was opening 1C with this hand. (and I wonder what they would do if the hand was slightly weaker OR if & were reversed).

But I never thought that anyone would open it 3

No, the QJT makes this holding nice. In that case I'd open a Muiderberg.

I'd also open 1 but I wouldn't reverse. Just rebid 2, unless you have alternatives like 3 specifically showing a minimum 5-6.
