Free Posted July 9, 2011 Report Share Posted July 9, 2011 I don't understand why people think Dbl is an option, this hand doesn't even closely resemble a takeout Dbl (and don't tell me you play penalty Dbl here). The choice is between pass and 2NT, the fact that partner has already passed makes it a lot less likely we'll have game and a lot more likely we'll run into a penalty Dbl, so I'll pass. This is the kind of hand where partner doubles and either they make or we get a small penalty instead of making our game. But I haven't learned my lesson yet and am still trying to penalize them.
