3 seems obvious...If either of my aces were in , I might choose to GF, but my are horrible. So, I won't think about slam unless partner makes a strong move over 3 or if he can bid 3 I will begin to get a bit more excited.

Can somebody explain why this hand spells trouble? Don't we have a great club suit, enough entries, very few losers, 8 tricks, etc? I really don't see anything negative.

It is posted in an internet forum as a question, so the percentage action is likely wrong.

Well: bad controls in the long suits, bad placement of the aces, 5 game a long way, likelyhood of pard having major suit length.

 

Anyway, I don't know... it's just a feeling and I usually follow my instincts. I think if you bid 3 there are many unsuitable hands with which pard will be driving to what rates to be a hopeless game.
