kenfree
Hi Fred et al., One annoyance I cannot get past on the web version, despite its many advantages, is that chat defaults to last person chatted to. This is NOT the same as in the download version, unless memory fails. There if you are at a table, chat defaults to table. That is how it should be, in my humble opinion. I constantly find myself chatting inadvertently to people I don't mean to chat to because they were the most recent person I chatted to, despite the fact that I am at a table playing bridge, and trying to communicate to the table. I shouldn't have to manually change the target (who remembers whom they were chatting to five minutes ago_)? I hope this can be tweaked at some point. barmar
I think it was done this way to make it easier to have a conversation with someone, so you don't have to keep selecting them as the destination. But since you can also do that easily by popping up their profile and selecting "Private Chat", perhaps this defaulting in the regular chat window is unnecessary. babalu1997
So 5 minutes prior someone was telling me some silly things about his mother. But in the regular chat window there was someone else to who I had said a simple hello to. I typed in the chat window, to this unsuspecting chatter: "Your mother is a jackass" I dont know if he liked my apology, but he has not said hello in a while.
Bbradley62
.. in the download version, unless memory fails... if you are at a table, chat defaults to table. That is how it should be, in my humble opinion.I disagree. If my message is going to be sent to an unintended recipient because I couldn't be bothered to look to see who is currently receiving my chats, I'd much rather that my msg get sent inadvertently to one person than to a group of people. This also minimizes the chance that I will give UI by accidentally typing something to the table for viewing by my partner instead of for just the opponent.
