gordontd
(1♦)-Dbl-(2♦)-2♥;(3♦)-?What does double show here? How about 3♥?Extras without four hearts. Something like a 4324 16-count. 3♥ shows four hearts.
MrAce
I agree with Gordon, and i have a question. Can it also be a hand which started with DBL and was planning to bid NT later (19-20 hcp) ? Or shd we bid 3 nt with this now ?

Can it also be a hand which started with DBL and was planning to bid NT later (19-20 hcp) ? Or shd we bid 3 nt with this now ? I think what gordon intended was "extras" with exactly 3 hearts. With 18-19 bal and 3 hearts dble, else bid 3N.
JLOGIC
You might have no diamond stopper, AKxx Ax xxx AKJx or something. But yeah usually 3 hearts would be the norm. The important thing is that this is NOT a maximal double, as no fit has been established yet, so it is more useful to use double as a good hand without a sure direction rather than to try and be more precise about what level you bid (another example of strain being more important than level).
