manudude03
[hv=pc=n&s=sakqjhakt7dak6caq&n=s965hj83d2cjt8743]133|200[/hv] I just picked up the South hand in a Robot Rebate :). How do you bid these hands to 6C? a) standard gib system, b) system of your choice.
chasetb
a.) 2♣ - 2♦; 5NT - 6♣That's such a nice 30 (you could be missing 2A and a K), I would call that 31 or 32, and I think this says that. b.) 2♦ (GF bal or Strong with ♦) - 2♥ (neg/waiting)2NT (GF bal)- 3NT (0-[3-])4♥ (Forcing to 4NT) (30-32) - 4♠ (xfer)4NT (max) - 6♣

Fluffy
perhaps with a 5NT bid from the strong hand and a disciplined pass over 6♣.
Cyberyeti
Don't know GIB. 2♣-2♦4N-6♣ 4N is 30-31 by our methods (2 point ranges starting at 22-23, kokish style 2♥ rebid to split them up), no real room for science, but the 6 card suit is huge. mfa1010
b) In Viking club we would start: 1♣-1♦1♥-1♠ (19+ any, double negative)2♣-2♦ (gameforcing, waiting/tripple negative)2NT Then responder would show clubs and opener would eventually place the contract in 6♣. mr1303
I must admit I have never felt the need to discuss how to bid 30 point hands with any of my partners.
helene_t
With Agusaris I have actually discussed this and it even gets right-sided: 1♣-1♦1♥-2♣* ((almost)-bust with 6+ clubs)6♣-pass
Zelandakh
No idea about a so I'll just move onto b. I think I would upgrade this hand to 31 hcp. Otherwise the auction begins very similarly to helene_t's... 1C = 15+ nat/bal or 18+ any... - 1D = 0-8 any1H = 18-20 any or 23+ bal... - 1N = (very) weak with clubs3NT = 31-32 balanced... - 4S = clubs4N = 2 clubs... - 6C If you insist it is only 30hcp then Opener's rebid is 3NT. Now Responder could follow the same path (4S) but simply bidding 6C also looks good with the grand less likely.
benlessard
1♣ --1Nt (6C weak or GF)2Nt (GF) --- 3D (short D)3H (C keyc) ------3S (0+no Q) here 3nt = to play4C = Kh ?4D KS ?4H QH ?4S QS ?4NT = JC ? 4Nt ? -- 5H (yes +J of H but no J of S)6C But the same hand with a stiff in the M we would fail because of lack of biddign space.
