Hanoi5
Being red and so 'balanced' I'm gonna pass. I'm not sure what's going on though, partner has the Majors? Did he pass 'cause he has nothing (no double, no further going hand) or was he afraid they'd go back to clubs?
P_Marlowe
Pass, you are too bal. With kind regardsMarlowe
pooltuna
a choice between 5♠ and pass with the edge going to pass as any hand that likely will go -500 in 5♠ has too high a probability of setting 5♦

Phil
My mom would call this hand "trump poor". The 6th spade does very little for the evaluation and 800 is just too likely. 6322 in general sucks. So partner isn't 5=3=3=2. Would a hand like AJxxx AQxx xx Jx be really surprising? quiddity
We made them guess at a high level - it's not clear that they can make 5♦. Maybe we're about to start AK of hearts and a ruff, or maybe the spade trick will cash, or maybe partner has a diamond trick. We have chances to beat par in this contract since we could easily have been going down in 4♠. If we bid 5♠ it is clear that the opponents should double us. Since it's clear to us, it's probably clear to them. The best we can hope for in 5♠-X is to make par, and sometimes we will be below par (when 5♦ was going down or 5♠ is going for 800). Avoid taking the last guess.
