dcohio
Contract is 5♦x. You've lost one trick to now, all opponents trump are removed, and there are 6 outstanding clubs, one outstanding heart, and one outstanding spade. Position: Dummy: voidvoidvoidKT6x declarer voidvoid5A9x LHO has discarded 1 club. RHO started with 5 spades, at least 4 hearts and 1 diamond (overcalled a spade, then bid hearts). LHO started with 3 spades, 3+ hearts, and 2 diamonds. (preferenced to spades). There were 4 rounds of spades played, 2 rounds of diamonds, and 3 rounds of hearts. you play the low club from dummy, RHO pops the jack, you win your ace, LHO follows with the 7. Playing the 9 from hand, LHO plays the 4. Finesse or K? Contract is safe either way, but you are looking for the doubled overtrick now. nigel_k
I don't understand the problem. If there are six outstanding clubs then RHO has another one so obviously you play for QJ doubleton since the alternative is an unlikely Grosvenor. However you said West discarded a club and we have seven so maybe there are only five missing now.
Hanoi5
I'd play for the drop.

LHO must have started with 1156. He meant there were 6 clubs.
han
I'd first cash the high diamond 5. Do I win the refrigerator?
655321
Seems that the confusing question could be restated as "Opponents are known to be either 3424 opposite 5413 or 3325 opposite 5512. Does RHO have a singleton club?"
