whereagles
Of course you should pass. But if you had opened 4♣, you'd now be playing FOUR hearts doubled with an even bigger smile in your face :)
peachy
I would open 4C. The actual auction is a little mysterious. Where are the spades? Opponents, obviously, since partner did not bid them and partner did not make a negative double on 1H. What does partner have in this auction? He does NOT have a trap pass of hearts since he did not double 2H to tell that. He does NOT have spades. Probably balanced hand with four hearts and not enough values to bid 1NT or raise clubs the second round or to bid 2D first(if he has five or more diamonds). Logically, he must have about two or three spades, long diamonds, short clubs. So the decision to pull or leave in should be based on this picture, plus the fact that partner has not peeped once all this time and now Dbl, very much penalty. Pass. He may not expect the hand that I have but that is my fault for misdescribing in the first place.
Hanoi5
I'd chicken out, 4♣, which is what I should have opened.
mike777
Love your bidding easy pass nowwould never open this 4c, we are far too good for 4c. We even have the A of D.
aguahombre
5C the first time. Maybe influenced by not having 4C available, but IMO this isn't what most posters open 4C with.
y66
Pass. I don't feel good about our chances. I don't feel good about our chances for making more than 7 tricks in 4CX either if pard doesn't have the DK.

Should North pass the Double? From the first round, your partner was hoping you would double !You have now warned twice that you do not have a defensive hand... If he doubles now, he means business, and certainly he does not want you to bid 4♣. PASS by all means. 1
han
From the first round, your partner was hoping you would double !If so, why didn't partner double 2H?
Lurpoa
If so, why didn't partner double 2H? you warned, that you do not have an defensive hand (=2.5 DT), so he was withholding on 2♣/2♥. And if this is for IMPS a 2♥double, might be too risky.... But when you bid 3♣ he can expect at least 0.95 DT: you didn't open 3♣. 1
Siegmund
I would have opened 5C at equal in third, and don't think it's all that close. Generally speaking partners will expect 2 defensive tricks if you opened, 1 or less if you preempted, and plan accordingly with their doubles. It depends some whether your style is to preempt or to open 1 when you have 1½ defensive tricks. Partner knows you arent eager to defend hearts, but you havent yet pulled a double so at this point he is expecting a 7-card club suit and 2 tricks from you... you're going to provide one more club and one less defensive trick so IMO it's a reasonably clear pull to 4C, given the prior misbids. Too strong for 5♣ opener. 2♣ is OK: partner is now warned. 3♣: oh, but I have something ! 1
P_Marlowe
Hi, #0 I think I prefer a 5C opening bid instead of 1C opening bid, do you really plan to sell out to 4M?#1 I prefer 3C or 4C instead of 2C.#2 I think I am bidding 4C, I have 8 clubs, p cant expect this, he can expect some defence, which I dont have. With kind regardsMarlowe
cloa
Couldn't south have something like♠xxxxx♥QJ10xx♣x♦xand be a bit conservative thinking I have less than 6 HCP and all the ones I do have are in hearts so I can't respond the first time and partner didn't double reentry so what's the point of mentioning spades at the second round. Now in the third round, I have 3 heart tricks to hopefully take them down.
