On a particular hand, years ago, a certain gentleman (who shall remain nameless :blink: ) gave a positive signal for let's say diamonds. The defense went such-and-such poorly, and in the end the partner asked why the positive attitude in diamonds. The response was that the positive attitude signal was because he wanted his partner to cash the King in that suit. The partner of course responded that this was ridiculous, as he did not need a signal to let him know what he had in his own hand. A few months later, the unnamed gentleman did not cash a specific card to set the contract. When the hand was over, the same partner asked why he did not cash the setting trick.
