Bbradley62
I don't think you meant to put this in GIB forum.Actually, I did, because GIB held this hand. I'm not sure what the right bid is, so I wanted to ask for opinions about that, but I don't like the one that GIB chose.
barmar
I'll debate between 4♣ and4♠, and choose 4♠. If I bid 4♣, I think partner will expect more defensive tricks. While a slam is possible if partner has the right hand, I'm not counting on it.
Bbradley62
GIB bid 2♠, which I think is clearly inadequate.
barmar
Oh, yeah, I've seen it do that, although usually it's EW in competitive auctions. I think it's waiting to see if the opponents compete in its short suit. When that happens, it adjusts for the value of the void, and bids game. gwnn
No, it's just waiting for the bug to be fixed.
cloa513
GIB bid 2♠, which I think is clearly inadequate.Especially when it loves total points so much and I am sure I have seen a GIB bid 4S with a similar hand.
barmar
I played a hand this weekend where an opponent GIB made a simple raise with 5-card support. When I made the mistake of balancing, it jumped to game.
Gerben42
Barry, it does that on purpose to tilt you :) Next time you won't balance, you will have game cold.
