Wackojack
At red in a teams match, LHO passes, partner opens 1♣, RHO overcall 2♠ (weak). Your bid?[hv=pc=n&e=s987hj82daq43ckt3&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=p1c2s]133|200[/hv]
helene_t
Pass. Am happy to defend 2♠ undoubled if p has 12-14 bal. Playing Acol I would bid 3♣.
JLOGIC
Don't really love it but pass
Finch
I used to double on these hands and it kept going horribly wrong, so now I pass and let it go horribly wrong in a different way.
Wackojack
[hv=pc=n&w=sak5ha754dk8caj64&e=s987hj82daq43ckt3&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=p1c2sdp4hppp]266|200[/hv] Not the best contract and after the 5♣lead I proceeded to murder it and went 1 off when hearts broke 3-3. I see now that I should draw trumps and treat the hand like a no trump contract. In fact 11 tricks can be made when the last heart squeezes South in the minors. It just shows that you can often survive with bad bidding provided that you play the hand well.
JLOGIC
4H, wow, very aggressive bid!
Foxx
If you're West and you're trusting East to deliver four hearts or even three strong ones, 4H is automatic. In fact, with 4H I would be more worried about missing a slam than going down. With the East hand, I would pass, but not happy about it at all. At the table it would turn out OK, since West would balance with 2NT, and we would bid 3NT.

whereagles
echo frances, though dbl does work well here If you're playing weak NT, there's the alternative of cueing 3♠. Pard either has clubs, in which case your cue is only a slight overbid, or a 15-19 balanced, in which case you get to 3NT easy.
