Mbodell
for any of you who have entertained the thought that jon snow's lineage includes targaryen blood (eddard and someone or some random kidnapper *wink wink* and lynarra): i used to think that also, but it sorta bothered me that snow is not immune to heat/fire... wouldn't he be? Not necessarily, Viserys wasn't immune to heat. Not all the Starks seem equal in their green magic either.
Mbodell
in a way, i like that the tv story was condensed and some pointless stories removed, like the trek between the death of yoren and the capture of arya and gendry. also glad adam marbrand was melded with bronn, why did he exist in the first place. i read the first three books fats, the fourth took forever, the pace just became too slow. I think it unfortunate that we miss the trek of Arya and Gendry between the death of Yoren and their capture as it helps develop both of their characters. Arya has had a bunch of her scenes condensed both in the trek down to king's landing and in the escape from king's landing, I guess because much of the chapters are more inside her head and that may not translate as well to TV. Mardbrand is a whatever, except it is a bit odd for Bronn to have a role separate from Tyrion like commander of the King's watch, or to expect that all the people would trust a sellsword for that role rather than a proven bannerman.

More like Bywater combined with Bronn. And I liked Bywater, and was sad about his death.

Elianna
The hot "pleasure house" girl that taught Dany to be on top (forgot her name) took the dragons imo (just speculating so not a spoiler).Doreah That's an interesting theory. (This is a diversion from the book, so I don't know the answer, either, and don't think that I have spoilers. I was going to say my guess, but as it likely is based on trying to remerge with the book, it MIGHT be a spoiler, and so won't post.) We saw the Wizards in the "previously on GoT..." flashback at the start to remind us of them and then the final scene shows someone who looks like the Wizard we saw carrying the covered dragons up to the Wizard tower, no? If I recall correctly, it was someone hooded, but we didn't see his face. But perhaps I missed it. Anyway, that would have been my guess on who took them. luke warm
well it looks like they're moving at a pretty good little clip here... iirc, white walkers weren't really introduced till the 4th book or so... sigh, another year to wait for next season
VMars
well it looks like they're moving at a pretty good little clip here... iirc, white walkers weren't really introduced till the 4th book or so... sigh, another year to wait for next season Those shown at the end of this season were not what were called "white walkers" in the book. The "white walkers"/"others" are those that animated the ones that we saw at the end of this season (and we saw them at the beginning of season 1) . Also, you may want to reread the first chapter of A Storm of Swords.

han
Hampson gave me some kind of spoiler before I ever started watching with "Jon Snow will be your favorite character" but he mighta just been calling me a bastard On that note, I thought that Tyrion would be your favorite character. (and no, I'm not calling you short or smart)
han
I now realize that that joke might not work because in the tv-series Tyrion is not nearly as ugly as he is in the books.

PassedOut
I don't read this thread anymore cuz people post spoilers for non book readers. But F U han :P On the Keweenaw Peninsula where I live, "F U" has a rather specialized meaning: F U Shot Glass (And standard spelling is not held in high regard...) Elianna
BOOK THREE SPOILER DO NOT CLICK THE SPOILER IF YOU'RE WATCHING THE SHOW You know, I took this and book 1 in stride (I felt they were kind of telegraphed). I can't say what it's a spoiler for, as that would spoil it, but if you're up-to-date with books you're fine It's the end of Dance with Dragons that shocked and upset me. And the preview chapters of Winds of Winter are not resolving anything in regards to this!
jjbrr
another spoiler don't click this it has specific plot spoilers i'm obv not finished with book three so more will likely come from this part of the world, but balon greyjoy's death left a lot to be desired. he had, imo, a very interesting character and personality and whatever, and his relationship with theon/asha had a ton of potential. the whole situation was very interesting. but then we learn "oh by the way i received a raven and balon is dead trolololol! some wind blew him off a bridge! one less thing to worry about you know" i guess obviously some ***** will go down between the remainder of his family, but i was disappointed that's all i got from it (so far). i understand he wasn't a major character or anything but i was expecting something more interesting to come from it all.
