So i have been playing 2/1 15-17 for the last 2 years.

Sometimes played weak NT which was lots of fun.

But the question ive got is how does Gazilli change when you play weak NT in all seats?

Is there a book about it ?

Would appreciate any help

Well, there was a scheme that pard and I invented for ourselves many years ago, before we ever heard of Gazilli but sounds somewhat similar.

You are playing weak 1N, with 5 card majors, and use 1S over 1H as the FNT (aka Kaplan inversion, Granville or similar).

It has been a while since playing it and memory is a bit rusty. No access to notes where I am at work and I may find some differences if I look it up later.

Over 1S-1N

2C = 4+H or 4+C or balanced (next step = max vals for a NF 1N, other suits drop dead.

....................Over next step 2H shows 4H min, 2S = 4C min, 2N = bal)

2D = 6+S (next step = max vals for a NF 1N, other suits drop dead)

2H = 4+D with extra values (I may have included a V strong bal option in here)

2S = 4+D weak opener

Over 1H-1S

1N = 4+D or 4+C or balanced

2C = 6+H

2D = 4+S with extra values

2H = 4+S weak opener

See 1S-IN for basic scheme of continuations.

I should mention that this really requires that you commit to opening 1N with 5M332 when in range. This is not everyone's cup of tea, although I am comfortable with it.

[EDIT -something doesn't look quite right. I will try to find my notes and re-edit later]

We play a version of Gazilli in our weak no trump four card major system.

I am not sure now where I got the original version or which bits we have tweaked ourselves.

This is the structure

1M 1NT

2 11-16 with clubs or any game invite

Therefore:

2 and 2 over 1 are limited to around 15 hcp;

2M is also weak;

All other rebids by opener are GF - 2NT is game forcing and denies a side five-card suit as 3newsuit shows five and usually denies six of the major.

After

1 1NT

2NT ...

3 = four or more clubs

3 = five or more diamonds

3 = five or more hearts

3 = three spades

3NT = precisely 2=4=4=3.

After

1M 1NT

2 ...

2 = any minimum that doesn't fit another bid (no spade preference - basically clubs or diamonds weak, not five hearts (over 1) or any hand with four hearts over 1)

2 (over 1) = five or more hearts - only five hearts if maximum

2M = preference two or three but usually not two with long clubs that would prefer 3 if open is weak with clubs

2 (over 1) = both minors maximum

2NT = maximum unsuited for another bid (which means at least four diamonds)

3 = maximum with clubs

3/ = maximum with six card suit

3M = maximum with three card support

Over

1M 1NT

2 2

...

2 (over 1) = invite with five-four in majors

2M = 11-16 with clubs

2 (over 1) = invite with four-five in majors

2NT = invite with four or five in major opened

3/ = invite with clubs/diamonds

3 (over 1) = invite with five five in majors

3 = invite with six spades

Enlighten me. My Gazilli is (essentially) a 17+ artificial 2 rebid after opening 1M. How does the strength of a 1NT open affect this?

Again, it depends if you open 1NT with 5 card Majors or not. If you don't, then it doesn't matter indeed.

It also depends if you play 1M-1NT forcing, semi-forcing or NF, because you might need to show a weak/strong balanced hand with 5M332 somehow.
