jillybean
I know there have been a lot of good discussions regarding FP and the rules some use to decide when a pass is forcing. I can find Frances's post regarding low level FP but not the others, I don't find this software version at all good for managing the threads you are tracking. :( If anyone can give me the link to the old threads, that would be great. Ignore that, I have found it http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/43570-your-forcing-pass-rules/ [hv=lin=pn|jillybean,santosjuli,kristen33,zielonygil|st%7C%7Cmd%7C2S59H469JQD39QKCJQ%2CS4TJQH38D256TC239%2CS26KH25TKAD4JC47K%2C%7Crh%7C%7Cah%7CBoard%2012%7Csv%7Cn%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C1H%7Cmb%7C2C%7Cmb%7C3C%7Cmb%7C3S%7Cmb%7C4H%7Cmb%7C4S%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CHQ%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CCA%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CSQ%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpc%7CC7%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpc%7CS8%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpc%7CH4%7Cpc%7CC9%7Cpc%7CCK%7Cpc%7CHK%7Cpc%7CSA%7Cpc%7CH6%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CH9%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CHT%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cpc%7CHJ%7Cpc%7CST%7C]400|300|[/hv] Is my pass forcing, what are the rules? peachy
There is not just ONE set of rules for when FP applies.Good discussion here, shows you that there is a wide range of various "rules" from various experts. http://www.districtsix.org/Articles/Article%202009-06.aspx I like it "on" when we have constructively bid game or have established a GF. Finch
According to my rules, yes, because1 You have bid game on strength2. The opponents have bid on over it To clarify on 1: you have opened the bidding, and then shown high-card values to raise to the 3-level, then accepted a game try.If, for example, the auction was1H 2C 3H 3S4H 4S then personally I would not play pass as forcing because the opening side have not shown the majority of the strength (I have an agreement that if opener wants to impose a forcing pass, he has to do something other than just bid 4H on this second auction)
