Hanoi5
W/W, MP's, you receive: ♠xx♥AQTx♦AKJ84♣A6 It goes: 2♠-Pa-3♠-XPa-5♣-Pa-???
MrAce
I pass. I am not bidding my AKJxx or AQTx suit over pd's 5♣ if thats the question. If the questions was to consider slam, i dont see how i can possibly figure if we are losing 2♠ tricks or not. Pd is allowed to hold something like xx Kxx x KJxxxxx/KQxxxxx
Phil
Agree with Timo. I would add that most of the time the opponents have nine trumps. Partner might have bid 3N with good clubs and a spade stopper. Partner sounds like ♥K + ♣KQxxxx.
the hog
I pass also.

dake50
Already put my 2-cents in. My X of 3S+ has 2+losers in their suit.Partner chose 5C, not a S-short, up try.
whereagles
If pard has a hand that can make a slam, he'd probably have overcalled the round before. Pass is easy.

aguahombre
Partner did not choose 3♣ directly over 2♠. Another thread about 2/3 months ago covered partner having a long suit and possible slam interest in a similar context. Leben, anti-leben, and 4C were all available to pard, I assume. All this leads to the same as everyone else ---PASS. Edited April 12, 2011 by aguahombre
