avoscill
They say there is no preempt over a preempt. But maybe jumping to game should be an exception. For example, over a weak two in hearts by the opponents, what should I bid with something like:♠ Q J 9 8 7 5 4 2♥♦ K 8♣ J 6

TWO4BRIDGE
Uh, no! This is a clear pass.Someone forgot to tell Rodwell that.Recall the famous hand ( team championship several years ago ) where he directly overcalled a weak-2D open with:SouthQ 9 x x x xxx xK x x x Meckstroth put him in 4S game with:NorthA x xQ T xA K Q J T9 x Rodwell led a Sp and let West's ♠K win ! ! and made it .... because East could never get in to push a Cl thru South's K.... ( West held A Q J x x of Cl) .
heyrocky
Rodwell is good enough and has a good enough partner that he can bid whatever he wants. The rest of us (well, maybe except Justin) might be better served by showing a bit more restraint...

I didn't look at it from that perspective. But then it wouldn't have been worthy for a newspaper column.
