manudude03
(P)-1♦-(1♠)-2♥(3♥)-4♦-(X)-P(4♠)-5♣? What is 5♣ in the above sequence?
AlexJonson
Other. I'm going to 5D but I think a club lead/switch might be useful
inquiry
Alex got it right. Let's eliminate some of your poll choices.... General slam try? Nope. Didn't you see the 4♦ signoff. One can't go from making a non-forcing bid to all of sudden making a slam try ... when partner did absolutely nothing in between. Auto-cuebid? Say what? That would be another slam try, see general slam try above. Does not exist? Well, we see the bid, so it does exist. Natural (7-4, 7-5)? This is at least "possible". Maybe 7-5, but I think 4NT by the diamond bidder here would be Diamonds and clubs with at least two difference between the suits. That is the best use for 4NT and that opens up 5♣ for a better "other" use. Other: YES!!!! I want you lead a club should they bid 5♠ over 5♦... which I fully expect you to bid partner. whereagles
It's undiscussed, so it's NATURAL.
