Gerben42
Teams of 4, adv. opponents [hv=pc=n&n=sk8743hd8ckqt7542&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=p1d(Precision)2cdp2h3s4hdp]133|200[/hv] 1. Agree so far? 2. Now what? 3. If you don't bid, what do you lead?
whereagles
1. Sure, no probs with it.2. Pass. Opps were under pressure and pard is cashing in.3. ♣K wtp?
rhm
2. Pass. Opps were under pressure and pard is cashing in. What pressure? My partners rarely know when to cash in. East knows his partner is limited and seems to think he can make 4♥. He has heard the bidding too. Pard seems to have 5 cards in ♥, but is a passed hand. If there was a case for "when in doubt bid one more", this looks to me like one. I would bid 5♣ Rainer Herrmann
Hanoi5
1. I don't understand why I bid 3♠ instead of 2.2. I'm VERY tempted to bid 5♣. Partmer might hold 5♥'s but he passed as dealer, they might go down just because the hand is a freak, but I feel so guilty passing a doubled contract with such an offensive hand; I mean, their hands might be like this too and they might make the game by taking three diamonds and crossruffing the rest!3. I'd lead a very creative ♣K, in case I decide to pass.
whereagles
1. What pressure? (...) 2. If there was a case for "when in doubt bid one more", this looks to me like one. I would bid 5♣ 1. Well, our LHO might have had doubts over his 4♥ bid. Perhaps he would have bid only 3 if I had bid a mere 2♠. That is what I mean by pressure. 2. You can indeed be quite right. However, I get this feeling pard might show up with a red 5-5, in which case bidding is gonna be bad. As you said, he's heard the bidding; so he knows we're on the 6-5 region. Unless pard is an extra-light doubler, I'd trust him and leave it in.
Zelandakh
I am surprised noone has suggested a 3♣ overcall here.
akhare
I am surprised noone has suggested a 3♣ overcall here.+1 -- 3♣, then 4♠ over their 4♥. No need to guess if pard Xs 4♥ after we bid 3♣ B-). The danger of course is that we may miss out on our 4 spades game, but do we really expect the auction to die in 3C? Fluffy
Agree with the bidding so far, with the suit quality reversed I'd overcall 1♠. I like the 3♠ bid, giving partner the info he needs: we are 5-7. why 5-7? because with 5-6 we would overcall 1♠. Jumping to 4♠ would IMO show a better hand with same distribution. Partner has made his decision and we have nothing to add, ♣K lead.
Gerben42
Gonzalo we should play some time, that were exactly my thoughts. Unfortunately... [hv=pc=n&s=sathk9864dt654cj6&w=sj92hqj72da73ca98&n=sk8743hd8ckqt7542&e=sq65hat53dkqj92c3]399|300[/hv] Unless you lead a ♠, -790. Oh well. Rainer made 5♣X on this one after ♦K lead, but I think West must overtake and draw trumps.

Of course, but as you can see both sides have to find the right opening lead or the right continuation to get it one down. I prefer to leave that to the opponents :) Rainer Herrmann
