inquiry
I agree, I read this stuff mostly on a laptop, and it is killing my eyes. Let me give a few hints. First I guess we canall increase the size Like this, to make it easier on the eyes Isn't the larger font better than this, the normal size? Even this font (used for the rest of my post) is better than the default size. This is the size of text before we got the new improved forum sight. Second you can do two tricks that I use. The first is to change the resolution of your monitor while visiting this page. You can do this by right clicking on your desktop and choosing properties from the menu and changing your "setting" size. If you go to some low setting like 800x600 or 640x480 it is a little easier to read. Another way, is simply to highlight the text you in a message you want to read and paste it into word or someother program, and then make the font as large as you like. If you have windows XP (and maybe others) there is also a neat "magnifier" available that can solve this problem, albeit a little annoyingly (it is fun to look at at least)... Click "all programs, then "accessories" then "accessibility" then "magnifer". A little window the width of the screen opens above your browser (or anyother open window) and what you point at with the mouse is shown in that window. Finally the best solution would be if the default font here was set to "two", the size I used for most of the post. Users can select to increase the font size like I did, or hopefully, uday or john can globally change the minimum font size to help out our poor eyesight. JRG
The other solution is to use a Macintosh! I use a Powerbook with Apple's Safari as my primary browser. I just click <command>+ as many times as I like and it increases the font size (not surprisingly, <command>- decreases it). If you are stuck with Windows and use Internet Explorer, you can choose "Text Size" from the "View" menu and increase the font size.

Sorry John, While changing font size changing the size of a whole lot of the text on the screen, including the title to post, it does not affect the font size of the body of the text. That would have been simple if it worked.
JRG
Hmmm. Curious. You are perfectly correct. Strange - I tested this on a random web page and it enlarged all the text. Presumably something funny about how the text is being displayed.

I am already on 800x600 and BBO system does not accept anything less.My computer is set to use '98 and does not have magnifier...In trying to fix my problem would a global fix not then adversely affect everyone else? Also my wee dog is still lost! Now where did I leave my magnifying glass..... Rhutobello
Hei Laird :(I just made the words "bigger", go to top of IE, push "show" (third ) there you find "letter zize" not sure what the english equalent is ???. Then you can set it in several diffrenent zizes. Hope this can help you, but yes it will affect all sites ;D
Rhutobello
Huuuuuum! Looks like it work for all letters, but not for the "messages itself" ::)Sorry :-X And I can see JG already have given this tip :( Do you have a spare set of magnifying glass ::) ;D
inquiry
In internet explorer... Click on "Tool",Click on "Internet Option"Choose the button entitled "Accessibility"Put a check mark on the box next to "Ignore the font size specified on the web page" Now, just like mac people you can use the font size option to make the fonts change from smallest all the way up to largest. This works fine, but you may want to undo the change to your options after you leave BBF... since some web designers use font size for page layout and by changing this their pages would look ackward. JRG
How do I increase the size of the text within the posted material. When you've got a wheel-mouse hold down CTRL and turn the wheel. Regards Andreas That depends on the operating system and the browser. For the browser I use on a Powerbook running MacOS X, it just causes the window to scroll.
