This was the whole hand:[hv=pc=n&s=sqjt3hq32djt9843c&n=sak2hakt9dkq2cat8&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=2cp2d4c]266|400[/hv]How to find 6♦?
y66
I play double is penalty, pass is absolutely forcing. After I pass, I suppose responder can bid 5D and I can bid 6D.
manudude03
I double (though I see I'm alone at the moment) showing the big balanced hand. Pass is forcing, but could be based on a lot more different hands (various 2 suiters, 1-suiters with 11 tricks in hand etc), not about to torture partner. The advancements will be the same as y66. dcohio
First off, how is that hand negative? 6 points and a void opposite 22+ is not negative in any stretch of the imagination, it's actually nearly slammish... I hope you meant 2D was waiting. As north I'd pass, south would offer 5D (or should, if he bids 4 he's way undervaluing his hand). I'll raise to 6. Finch
I play double as showing a strong balanced hand, so I'd do that. With a penalty double I pass.YES pass is absolutely forcing. 2C P 2D 4Cx P 4D P5C P 6C P6D all pass edit: someone has suggested that 4D is an 'underbid'. How does that make sense? It's forcing, and South isn't certain what strain to play in.
