killjoys Posted March 29, 2011 Report Share Posted March 29, 2011 it was a ruling hand. he put it on the laws section. the player led a spade after receiving that explanation and got a bad result. in fact the explanation was wrong and it should have been good suit, bad hand. the player argued that it would then be obvious to lead a heart and get a better result. the director and appeals committee essentially said, leading a spade was ridiculous/unusual/etc under any explanation so there's no reason to assume the right explanation would make him change his mind.
