cloa513
ruffed low a diamond in obvious situation ... cost me about $10 :D http://tinyurl.com/633eytkEspecially when ruffing high no matter what the layout would have cost nothing- so much for its simulations. ahydra
Yea, first priority should surely be to see if there's a no-loss play? ahydra
barmar
I don't think GIB knows how to find no-loss plays. It would have to deal out all the billions and billions of combinations of opponents' cards and simulate the play of each of them.
ahydra
Nah - for a start, use of "touching cards are equal" and similar rules would cut down the number of possibilities quite significantly. Besides, in a situation like this, you say - 3 trumps left, i have KQJ10 - assume the worst, I need 3 to draw trumps - thus I can afford to use the K/Q/10 to ruff - ruffing high never loses, whereas ruffing low can - therefore I ruff high It's only when GIB suspects he might lose trump control or whatever that he needs to start simulating. ahydra
barmar
You're talking about replacing its currently simulation-based algorithm with artificial intelligence. That's a complete redesign of the program.
