aguahombre
Am pretty sure that we are mirrored, and am hoping we have to lose a key quack. If we have twelve tricks then we might lose only 4 imps for 800. Will try a pass.

wank
definitely overplaying it to say we're mirror-imaged. partner can easily be 3253/3235 or 2245/2254 in which case we can likely make slam. as for what we can get out of 3Hx - 5 hearts for them, maybe an outside trick and a ruff. possibly only 300 versus 920. at imps i think it's worth the gamble so..... how to get there? not confidently. i reckon you start with 4H and if partner's 3244 he should bid 4S - getting sadly murky to find our 5m contract now. otherwise you raise 5m to 6. at MPs an easy pass with the expectation of 500 versus 4xx. Hanoi5
Without much thought, 4♥ and raise 5m to 6m... Exactly, without much thought. Partner can have ♦A and ♣AQ and a minor suit slam might still be off. I pass and hope for 500 when we have at least game and 300 when we don't have anything. whereagles
Pass or 3NT, depending on how I feel. If pass, lead ♥A, ♥.

aguahombre
partner can easily be 3253/3235 or 2245/2254 in which case we can likely make slam. My partner tends to bid her 5-card suit when I make a takeout double --if the other choice is a responsive double.

aguahombre
Anything wrong with 3NT? ahydra If partner is missing one of the minor aces, we are down in 3NT. If she isn't missing one, then we will do better scoring at least 500. This assumes a responsive double denies 4 spades and doesn't have a 5+ minor suit, but wanted to show some stuff. If she had stuff and length in a minor, she would bid the minor. If no stuff, she would make no call at all.
bluecalm
This assumes a responsive double denies 4 spades and doesn't have a 5+ minor suit Is it standard treatment ?I mean, can't he be 2-1-5-5 or 3-1-(5-4). I would expect my partner to double with both.
Fluffy
responsive doubles are for balanced hands, with 5-5 minors you just bid 4m or 4NT according to strenght.
whereagles
What prevents you to lead the obvious ♠A? Nothing. But opps aren't making any tricks but in trumps, so I'm pulling those right away.
