jules101
[hv=pc=n&n=sakt95haq8daj83c6&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=pp3d]133|200[/hv] This hand came up in a teams match. Do you risk a double and hope to bid ♠, to show a strong flexible hand? The worry is that pard bids ♣! Over to you!
kenrexford
Ugh! 3NT for me. Probably sick.

Free
I don't understand why you'd Dbl. I prefer 3NT (although not entirely happy about it), but if you really want something else I'd bid 3♠.
Fluffy
double asks for trouble, it will be good if you find a magical hand in partner with 5 hearts, but other than that I think our only reasonable choices are 3♠ and 3NT I think 3NT gets us to a good spot more often than 3♠ does. aguahombre
If I am going to brave the opps possibly running the club suit, it would be nice to have a trick source in case they can't do it immediately. Wimping out with 3S. Perhaps on those hands where we can make 3NT, pard will raise spades and we make that; and conversely if pard can't move over 3S maybe we can't make 3NT. mtvesuvius
I'd 3N this too.
whereagles
3♠ for me. Given our diamond length, pard is likely to have support for spades. Plus, our ruffs will be in the short hand, as it should be. Really surprised everybody joining the 3NT bus. Too much MPs I guess B-)
